Go Shawty, its your birfday...

Today is a special day. It is the day we celebrate the birth of my loving husband, Jeremy Dewayne (Duh-wayne) Knight. I'm sure he will be completely opposed to me posting this, but thats ok. He is not too keen on celebrating this marvelous day, but he will get over it. Celebrate, we will.
His only request was "don't spend any money on me". Ok, no problem. I will just spend it on your prodigy. And perhaps bake you a Sherry Cake. I was originally on a mission to find an "Atlanta Braves" onsie because the day we found out we were having a boy Jeremy went to the Atlanta Braves store website to look at their onsies. I figured they would have them at the Disney Wide World of Sports with their big array of Atlanta Braves apparel, but they didn't. Bummer. But alas, I saw it- an ESPN onsie complete with a baseball embroidered on the butt. Anyone who knows my husband know that ESPN is his ultimate happy place. His idea of a perfect day is a day of ESPN, his recliner, and Rotel. I am posting a picture below of all of the preciousness that encompasses Leyton's newest outfit. Jeremy smiled from ear to ear when he opened "his" birthday present. He is so excited about our little boy.

Happy Birthday, Jeremy!! I love you!

24 weeks and counting

Here we are at 24 weeks. Things are still going smoothly...we went to the doc for a checkup yesterday and everything looks great. Little man had a great heartbeat and continues to dropkick me in the bladder. Sunday night Jeremy had his arm across me and Leyton kept kicking his arm. I'm guessing he was thinking "move your big hairy arm, buddy." It was cute. So other than the fact that I magically wake up at 4:00-5:00 every morning  and pee 3 times a night things are going great.

In other news we are "hunkered down" at home today since work is closed due to Tropical Storm Fay, who is turning out to be quite a pansy. You can see from the photos above that I have a nice anchor in place and won't be carried away by any tropical storm force winds.

I also need to take a second to talk about the movie "Mama Mia". It was cute, but it was a little too gooby (even for me). I mean, I knew it was a musical, but I almost couldn't take it...every time they would start singing(especially Pierce Brosnan), I would laugh so hard my seat would shake. The lady sitting a few seats down from me wasn't too amused by my seat shaking fiasco. Thank God I went with some girlfriends instead of Jeremy. There is no doubt in my mind that after the first scene he would have leaned over and said "I'll just wait for you in the car".

Month 6 here I come!

Well here I am moving into Week 23 and all of a sudden....I have a huge belly! I seriously woke up Saturday morning and was like "Where did you come from?" I just noticed in these pictures that my belly is as far out as my boobs now. That's progress, friends. I'm hoping to start getting preferential treatment in public places.

In Leyton news, I went to Gymboree yesterday and got him some cute little clothes. He will love them. He weighs in at over a pound this week and should be around 10 inches long. He also likes to wake me up in the middle of the night with his aerobics routine.

What does that mean?

I had the pleasure of talking to my sweet Ging-Ging on the phone yesterday. For those of you who have never had the distinct honor of meeting my grandmother- let me elaborate. She is about 4'11 and oh-so precious. She defines southern drawl and the typical southern "bless her heart" and "oh my lands" (I still don't know what that means) phrases. The only time I ever saw her do anything foul was once when my grandfather complained about something she cooked being too salty, she flipped him off not knowing that anyone was looking. Since I am the only grandaughter and I look like her, she pretty much thinks I hung the moon. I can do no wrong and take no bad pictures in her eyes. Fine by me. I got away with alot when I stayed at Ging-Ging's house.

So little Ging-Ging called me yesterday to check up on me and see how I was doing and gossip and so on. A few minutes into our conversation went something like this:

GG: "Well, have you gotten fat yet?"

Me: "Oh yeah, but I'm not showing quite as much as I thought I would be by this time"

GG: "Well thats ok, darlin'. You are built to carry a child without showin' too terribly much"

HUH? What does that mean? Did my Ging-Ging just call me fat? Or big-boned, or whatever? Normally, the comment wouldn't have gotten me pondering, but I had just watched a show on Discovery Health about these four women who didn't know they were pregnant until they were in labor. What did they all have in common? Yep, they were all OBESE

Awesome.

THANKS, GING-GING.

My cute brother (I know, he got the skinny-genes) about to walk Ging-Ging down the aisle

Update!

Everything is going good with the little man. He is having a ball kicking and doing somersaults in there. His daddy finally felt him move yesterday! It was very cool. I have been working on stuff for the nursery. I have been doing some elephant paintings (FINALLY I have an excuse to have an elephant room). You all know how obsessed with elephants I am.

This week, he should weigh a pound! Here is the latest "bump" pic, although it doesn't really look like a little bump anymore. I call this dress my pregnancy dress b/c it really shows it off. I will be 22 weeks this week! only 18 to go!
