Today I am...

Baby girl was not feeling the photoshoot yesterday. It's hard for me to get smiles from her on camera, b/c she looks at me like I'm a fruitcake when I bring out the big camera. I guess I don't blame her.

She has been doing really well lately! She has been cooing and chatting up a storm and has begun to laugh out loud! It isn't a full blown cackle, but if you tickle her in the right places she will let out a little laugh. She is still sleeping decently well. She will normally go about 4-6 hours before waking up to nurse then go right back to sleep. We moved her into her crib a couple of weeks ago and the transition went better than I thought it would. I forget how much easier transitions are on babies than we parents think they will be. She is still only napping about 45 minutes at a time, but I guess she will stretch that out as she gets older.

She has recently discovered her thumb, but will refuse the pacifier. She is starting to pay more attention to her mobile and toys. She is starting to realize that she can grab things in her reach. Her favorite activity is still the bath. I think she could stay in there all night if we let her.

She loves watching Leyton play, but likes to keep him at arms length. I can't blame her, he is a bit unpredictable.

I have to include this picture I took on my phone after church Sunday. I love sleeping baby pictures.

Fall's a comin'

We've finally had the slightest hint of Fall weather. And by slightest hint, I mean 88 degrees instead of 98. However this week we are supposed to have a few days of highs in 70s lows in 50s. Bring it.

Anyhow,  Leyton and Jeremy have been talking about getting Leyton a Southern Miss football uniform. My husband needs no excuse to spend money on Southern Miss paraphernalia, so I knew when they headed off to the campus store yesterday they would come back with some goods. L was so proud, he stripped down right in the kitchen to put his uniform on and insisted on wearing his helmet to throw his foam baseball with me last night. Isn't he cute?

I love this next picture. He was trying to take the top off but it has built-in shoulder pads so he was struggling to get it off. He was pouting b/c I was laughing at him instead of helping.

Here are some other random pics I snapped this week:

New Prints on Etsy!

I just finished creating a trio of Christmas Art prints. Once September rolls around, I go into a 'Fall state of mind' and immediately start getting excited about Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Oh, and some cooler weather would be nice too. Anyway here are the new prints, along with two new bible verse prints I created last month. I also plan on making greeting cards out of the Christmas prints.

Here is the link to my etsy shop if you are interested in checking it out: http://www.etsy.com/shop/NKCreative

First Day of Preschool and more

Today was Leyton's first day of Preschool! I don't know who was more excited, me or him. Probably me. We are so lucky though that Leyton loves his school, teachers and friends. He was so ready to go back. Here are some pictures from this morning. He was so proud of his new backpack that he picked out "all by himself." Of course, I have to include some new pics of sweetie pie too.

First Church Trip

Yesterday was Elise's first trip to church. The only reason I really hadn't ventured out with her to there yet is because Jeremy has to leave very early on Sunday mornings to be at church before the first service. This leaves me to get myself, a stubborn three year old and a newborn dressed, fed and out the door. I just wasn't brave enough to tackle that until now. It went well- there were only minimal tears, but by the time I got everyone in the car I was sweating. Oh well. We made it and that's all that matters. She did great. I knew there would be people ooh-ing and ahhh-ing over her, but she never once fussed. Once the music started she was out and slept until the sermon was over.

You will have to excuse the picture quality here. I find myself depending more and more on my camera phone. I usually don't have enough time for the fancypants camera.

After lunch, little man went with me to Target to help me pick out a new pair of shades. He was channeling his inner Tom Cruise.

Elise meets Ging-Ging

We made the trip to Natchez last weekend mainly because my great grandparents hadn't met Elise yet. She faired pretty well on the car ride over, but still isn't a fan of the carseat. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Anyhow, it was worth the trip. I know both of the kids are going to make great memories out in the country just as I did growing up. Here are a few pictures. I love the ones Jeremy got of Ging-Ging seeing Elise for the first time.
