A special day...

I stole your blast from the past pic

So I actually have two birthday shoutouts. First of all my bff, Kristen- she is one in a million. The best kind of friend you could ask for. I am so glad Jeremy and I ended up in Orlando so we could stay close with she and Jamie. She is such a great "aunt" to Leyton and come late January she will have her own baby!!! We can't wait to meet baby Perreault. Happy birthday, friend!!!

AND my other friend, Carolyn, also has a birthday today. She was probably one of the first people I met when we moved to Orlando and I LOVE this girl. She is hysterical, always has a sunny disposition and shares my love for all things 'southern'. She is also a great "aunt" to L.

The Sweetest Thing...

...is seeing this sweet little man curl up in daddy's lap and fall asleep. Doesn't get much better than that.

Gran is in town....

Let the spoiling begin.

Leyton is quite smitten with his Gran. He has discovered many new games, tricks, and toys and has been the happiest baby this week. But with a Gran like this, who wouldn't be?

L & M

M- "Whoohoo yay! Camera!!
L- "Good Lord, do they have the cameras out again? I can't handle it."

"WHY are you so happy about this?"

"Maybe if I just lean in and pose they will stop"

"I think you are right, L. They ARE a little crazy"

"Maybe if you would quit smiling, they will put the cameras away.
I am putting an end to this"

P.S. If you didn't laugh at that last picture, well, there's just something wrong with you.

TODAY I AM...

7. months. old.

I can't even take it.

Where does time go? I still can't get over how much L changes from week to week. And let me tell you- my sweet little angel is a livewire. And we are loving every minute of it. Here are some of his recent antics:

• Still army crawling/scooting. He will get on his hands and knees and rock- so I think the real thing is coming soon.

• He is practicing consonant sounds like "ya-ya" "bah" and "deh" and "gaaah." He mainly yells them when he is mad. He also says "heh" which sounds like he is saying "hey." Jeremy is convinced he is saying "hey."

• He also does this very weird "shriek" when he is excited. Sounds similar to a seagull that is off his rocker. He did this a few times when Kelly, his babysitter, took him to storytime at the library. She said everyone turned around and was giggling at him. Funny kid.

• sitting up- although he prefers to be on his tummy.

• bouncing like a madman when you hold him on your lap

• His favorite toys? The remote, cell phone, earrings, laptop, and any other item he is not supposed to have.

• He has been napping very well lately. I think he has realized that his parents are, in fact, pretty boring and he may as well sleep.

• Being spoiled. When he wants to be picked up he will lay on his tummy and flap his arms and legs up and down and whine like a little girl. He will be perfectly fine until he sees one of us leave the room- then he does this.

• He is starting to pull himself up in the crib. He also pulls the bumper down to see if anyone is in the room- and if we are he grins like a bobcat.

• He is so happy and enamored with everything. He smiles at everybody, toys, and sometimes the air. His little sideways grin melts me to pieces. Precious, precious, precious.

Naptime Musings

Leyton took quite a monstrous nap this morning. This is how I found him when I went to go check on him. I was a bit alarmed when this is all I saw, but after finding that he was as peaceful as a little lamb, I had to take a picture.

Creepin' Scooterbug

It is time to baby proof in the Knight household! Over the past few days, L has started lurching himself forward using his forearms and knees. Today he was in a full force creepcrawl. He has already covered the living room, tried to crawl through the bottom of our coffee table, made it into the kitchen, and bonked his sweet little head on some furniture. Here is a little snapshot into his newfound moves.

Side note: Leyton slept for 10 straight, solid, glorious hours Sunday night. This is a big deal.
