TODAY I AM...

This past month has been full of so many developmental changes for Leyton. He is really transitioning from babyhood to toddlerhood quickly. Just watching him play is amazing. I can't believe his first birthday is right around the corner.

Here are a few things he has been up to:

• He LOVES books. Loves them. He will bring a book to Jeremy or me and stand there very intently until we finish. Then when we are done he will either go get another one or he will take the one we just read them and smash it against our face until we read it again.

• He plays ball with us. When we roll it to him, he rolls it back to us- or tries to throw it which is pretty comical.

• He drags his toys to the top of the staircase and pushes them under the gate so he can see them roll down the stairs. He thinks it is so funny.

• He gives his toys a "ride" on his hippo push toy.

• He claps and waves when he gets excited.

• He talks constantly. I don't understand half of what he is saying, but it sounds important. His new "words" are uh-oh, ba-ba, and other things I don't quite understand. We have been trying to teach him that Santa says "ho ho ho" and he has actually said it quite a few times! I'll try to get it on video one of these days. It sounds more like "heh, heh, heh" or 3 grunts. He thinks it is so funny when we say it.

• He loves goldfish crackers, bananas, cheese and hummus.

• He loves pushing the dining room chairs around.

• We have had to get on to him about throwing his food and his cup out of his high chair. I think he just likes to see us play fetch. He also throws all of his toys out of his reach when he is in his carseat then gets mad when he doesn't have anything to play with. Its a rough life.

• He has a toy that has holes for certain shapes (circle, star, triangle, etc..) and he tries really hard to get the shapes in, and has succeeded a few times! He sticks his tongue out when he is concentrating on it.

• He helps us dress him by raising his arms and pushing them through the sleeves.

• He walks when he feels like it, but he still pretty much crawls everywhere. I guess he has decided it is faster.

• He has four teeth.

• He still loves tupperware and toilet paper. A few weeks ago I made the mistake of leaving the toilet seat up and the toilet paper on the ground. He then proceeded to put the whole roll in the toilet. Classic.

Whew that was a long update! He has just been changing so fast that I don't want to forget anything. Here are a few pics from the past week.

Nan, he is ADORABLE! I know you just want time to stand still; just enjoy EVERY stage that he goes through.

You used to stick your tongue out when you concentrated as well I just can't wait to hold and watch him. I know I will be doing more watching because he is such a busy boy. Not a baby anymore but I love who he is!!!! It is because he has such great parents.
