Silly, Silly Boy

Leyton has been keeping us laughing these days with all of his silly antics. He has taken up flapping his arms like a bird, dancing and head bobbing, and in typical male fashion- laughing hysterically at the word "poop." Here are a few videos of him in action.

Lately...

I apologize for my week long absence from blogging. I have taken up reading in my spare time. I am almost ashamed to tell that I have been reading the Twilight series after Sugar Puff goes to bed. Embarrassing. Now my secret is out. Someone lent them to me, and I have to admit they are good. Maybe my next read will be something more educational or spiritual for balance, but right now it is all about some vampire love. Now that I am done with my second book in one week, I will divulge you as to what we, er Leyton, has been up to.

waiting for cooler weather

Playing with Selah

Jenna, make sure Maddie knows it was strictly platonic

Helping daddy draw his bath

He started saying 'mama' last weekend. Be still my heart! I have been trying to catch it on video, which is difficult since babies don't perform on demand. He said it clear as a bell right before I started recording. Typical. I think I caught one though before he got angry.

Practicing.
He recently started pushing his little hippo walking toy around. Once he gets his balance & coordination intact, it may not be too long before he is taking off

TODAY I AM...

My little sugar puff is 9 months old today! Here are a few things he has been up to:

Moving and Cruising around the furniture.

He has now learned how to get back down from standing position.

His favorite games are peek-a-boo and chase.

He is a climber. He will try and climb on and into everything. He can clear the staircase in about 90 seconds flat.

Mimicking: He likes to make a clucking sound back and forth with us. He also drums on a flat surface back and forth with us, and when I clap my hands, he starts slapping my hands. I love this stage.

Marking his territory: He has a stool that he loves to pull up on and if we have our hand on it, he will nicely pick it up and push it off his stool. Since the stool has his name on it, I guess it is only fair.

Pincer Grasp: He has gotten very well at this and does a great job feeding himself Cheerio type baby puffs.

He has 2 teeth and is working on more.

He says "mama," "dada," and "Nah-nah"

He is learning the meaning of "no." He doesn't like it, and most of the time chooses to ignore it.

He is growing and learning at a rapid pace. We are blesses to have such a beautiful, healthy, happy baby.

Halloween Dilemma

No, this is not a real dilemma. But I am stuck as to what little L will wear on Halloween, which by the way I can't believe is next month! The bad thing about living in Florida is that it is usually still hot until January. Not a big deal until you start looking for baby halloween costumes and they are all made to combat the harsh winters of Minnesota. Anyway, here are a few contenders. I am leaning toward the lobster because it doesn't look as hot as the others and you can always add layers if it happens to be a cool 60 degree day in the sunshine state, but he would be precious in any of these. Any input is welcome.

Leyton & Baylee

My brother, Richard and sweet Baylee came to Orlando for a visit. I have to say that she is she is such a darling and my brother is such a great daddy, but I always knew he would be.

Isn't she scrumptious?

Trying to get pictures of them together has proved to be rather challenging due to Leyton's curious "I wanna paw at you" ginormous baby ways. But we managed to get a few:

"God made us cousins, because he knew our parents couldn't handle us as siblings."
