I have to say, this is my favorite age so far, but I guess you think that with every stage they are in. I know I say this every month, but time really needs to stop flying. I seriously refuse to believe that my sweet baby will grow up. Refuse.
He is just the happiest little boy. Everytime I take him somewhere someone always comments on how happy he is. He is always smiling and "talking" to everyone who passes. This kid knows no strangers. He tried with all of his might to crawl out of my arms at the pool the other day to get over to this man who simply waved at him.
Here is what is going on round here:
He has also been (and prefers) putting himself to sleep. I can't remember the last time he fell asleep on a bottle. He just doesn't want to. We lay him down awake and he sometimes plays for a few minutes and konks out or he just rolls over and goes to sleep. Glorious. He rarely fusses. Although I have to admit I miss holding him while he sleeps- it was only time I could get a good cuddle in because let's face it, he just doesn't have time for that these days.
Crawling- he started doing the "traditional" crawl about a week or so ago. He will usually do a few and then revert to his army crawl. Although he has been doing the real crawl alot today. He catches pretty good speed on the tile.
Pulling up- He pulls up on everything. He is such a big boy.
"Talking" My oh my, I have a loud child. He now says "dada" not knowing really what it means, but it makes Jeremy happy nonetheless. He also throws in some "ba ba's" amidst his squeals and rants. I swear I thought I heard a "ma ma" but it was really more of a "mmmmmuu mmah." I hear what I want though.
He is becoming quite clingy. Or is that just called 'spoiled'? Anyway- he will be perfectly fine doing his thing, chewing on toys, whatever. But if I even as much as go into the kitchen for a glass of water or God forbid have to use the restroom - he starts whining and follows me into the kitchen, sits at my feet whining, or tries to pull himself up my grabbing my legs. Pitiful. He even followed me into the restroom one day. I hope this isn't the beginning of separation anxiety.
Teeth- Poor guy has been teething forever. He has his two bottom teeth coming in. You have been able to see the top of them for awhile, but last night one of them really popped up and we could see it very clearly this morning. How much longer does teething last? 2 years? Lordy.
I'll leave you with a couple of pics to feast your eyes on.
