Morning Cuteness

Since Leyton has discovered that he can climb up onto our bed all by his bad self, it is usually the first place he goes after eating breakfast. Since my camera was nearby, I decided to snap some pics of him in all of his morning glory.

BedHead

Apparently, this is what happens when your child sleeps until 9am. Who knew? No amount of hairbrush wetting could tame this beast of a 'do', but I would claim this little horned owl any day of the week.

A Day in the Life...

While I never tire of hearing Leyton call me "mommy," I would be a millionaire if I had a dime for everytime he said it in a day. He always has to make sure that I know exactly what he is thinking or sees at any given moment. Same for Jeremy when he is with him. And when both of us are there it is "mommy, daddy." Sometimes, I wish I could record our conversations so I could remember the funny things he says. Here is a glimpse into a normal 2 minutes of our day. I love this little boy.

L: "Mommy?"
M: "yes?"
L: (pointing to sky) "bwu"
M: "That's right, the sky is blue"
L: "Mommy?"
M: "yes?"
L: "Airmane!, airmane!"
M: "I don't see an airplane yet, maybe we will see one soon."
L: "Bye, bye, airmane"
L: "Mommy? Mommy?"
M: "yes?"
L: "Daddy?"
M: "Daddy is at work right now."
L: "Bye, bye, daddy"
L: "Mommy?"
M: "what?"
L: "tucks" "vooom,voom"
M: "Yep, that is a big truck"
L: "Mommy?"
L: "Mommy?"
M: "Yes, dear?"
L: "Knock, knock"
M: "Who's there?"
L: "Poooooow (Cow)"
M: "Cow who?"
L: "Mooooooooo"
L: "Mommy?"
M: "yes?"
L: "Snacks. Peas?"
M: "No, its too close to dinner time."
L: "Bye, bye snacks."
L: "Mommy?"
Me: "what?"
L: "Happy Day"
M: "Oh happy day..."
L: "Mommy?"
M: "yep?"
L: "Tinkle, tinkle"
M: "Twinkle, twinkle little star..."
L: (clapping) "Alwight, momma"
L: "Mommy?"
M: "yes?"
L: "Wuv ew, momma."

So long summer...

Well, sort of. It will probably feel like summer until Christmas around here, but by the time September rolls around my mind has already moved on to Fall. Thoughts of lazy pool days and barbeque have been replaced by pumpkins and close-toe shoes. On Labor Day, we decided to spend our afternoon enjoying one of the last "lazy pool days" of the summer.

E-Pop

We had a visit from Jeremy's dad, Aunt Carolyn and little sister Rebekah this weekend. Before they even arrived, Leyton had quickly decided that his grandpa would be named "E-pop." So it was and they became quick buddies. Leyton is still asking about "E-pop" "CiCi or Meemah" and "Becta" (who managed to escape being photographed, somehow).

Game Day Gear

Jeremy was excited to dust off Leyton's jersey for opening game. He made sure I knew at the beginning of the week that on Thursday, L was to wear his jersey. Sure, we played awful, (in the 1st half anyway, I didn't make it past that) but we sure did have one handsome Golden Eagle cheering them on.

"Touchdown"
Did we even score one? Not sure.
