Weekend in the country

Last weekend Leyton, my niece Baylee and I ventured to Natchez to visit with Poppa and Nonna. The weekend was jam packed with activities such as fishing, tractor rides, cow searching, Easter egg hunts and duck feeding. I am still trying to recover.

Here are a few pics.

Baylee in a rare moment: stillness

Baylee's reaction when she "caught" her first fish. She must have been expecting Nemo.

Third Trimester, Nursery Ideas and a Name!

It sounds weird to say I am already in the third trimester. I sounded even weirder when at my last dr. appt, they said I will start seeing the doc every two weeks. It just seems way too early for that. Thankfully, I passed my glucose and iron test with flying colors and overall am feeling pretty darn good. I haven't had any swelling yet, which at this point with Leyton I already couldn't wear my wedding rings. I'll take that as a good sign. Here is my 28 week pic:

As far as the nursery goes, I know what I want to do but we just haven't done it. Hopefully we can paint within the next few weeks and I can cure my itch. Pictured below is the chevron rug I got from Urban Outfitters. I also have framed a couple of pieces to go in the room. The one on the left is one of my bible verse prints, the middle one was a frame I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby for about $3 and recovered with scrapbook paper. The one on the right is an initial I made with buttons (thank you Pinterest for the idea). We are going to paint the walls a pale grey-ish blue and use aquas, pinks and peaches. I used to really hate pink, but it has grown on me lately.

Here is the bedding I have been lusting after from Pottery Barn Kids. Hopefully I can order it before the babe arrives.

Obviously, since I made an initial thing, it means we have reached a decision on the name.

This naming a baby business is no joke. Especially to someone as indecisive as myself. It took Jeremy and I a long time to find one we both agreed on. We really liked the meaning behind Elise which is "God's promise." And it is different enough where you don't hear it everyday, but not so different that people will commonly mispronounce or misspell it. Bennett is my mom's maiden name which I knew I wanted to incorporate whether it was a boy or girl. So there you go. Decision made.

Spring!

I'm in love with the spring weather we have been having this week. I am also loving the extra time of daylight we have been having. We have been taking advantage of both by brushing up on our t-ball skills.
