Ten Months Old!

I figured I better update before she is no longer 10 months old! It has been a month of movin' & groovin' and chatting up a storm. Elise is officially now all over the house and loving it (she started crawling at 9 months). She is pulling up as well, but hasn't really started cruising.
She waves and says "bye, bye"
She says "uh-oh" when she drops something (usually on purpose)
In general, she doesn't stop babbling
She can give kisses, but she is pretty picky about giving them away.
She follows her brother around the house and thinks everything he does is hysterical.
She fights her afternoon nap with a vengeance, but sleeps around 12 hours at night so no complaining here.
She is still eating purees for the most part. I cannot get her interested in table food- she gags as soon as it hits her mouth. But she eats yogurt melts and puffs with no problem.
She is so happy all of the time and remains to be a very easy going, cuddle baby.

9 months and a picture update

I'm behind- once again! What is wrong with me? There have been lots of changes/developments with Elise this past month it seems, so I will try to document them.

• She is a tried and true booty scooter. Homegirl can really get around on that behind. Granted, she isn't very fast, but she can slowly get her way across the room if she wants

• While I'm not sure she will ever do a traditional crawl, she has been rocking on her hands and knees.

• She will pull up a little bit. She will pull all the way to standing while holding on to my hands, but she will only get about halfway up while holding on to other objects.

• She is obsessed with my computer charger cord. You could dangle a toy in front of her face, but she would still go for the cord. Everytime.

• She is such a copycat and tries to mimic everything we do. She even tries to sing with me sometimes.  She is saying mama, dada, and Ley-ley (although sometimes it comes out "la-la" or yey-yey").

• She is waving and clapping

• She finally has 2 teeth!

• She is just now able to tolerate yogurt melts and gerber puffs. She is still not really sure about them though. So obviously we have not ventured into table foods.

• She is always so happy and just adores her brother. I could squeeze on her all day long!

I had to add a few recent pics - including some of Leyton.

Eight Months!

I keep thinking eight months doesn't sound right. She can't be that close to one already. She is still just as sweet and precious as she was last month. She is constantly doing new things and learning new tricks. We are enjoying her so much.

• Scooting backwards. Nope we aren't crawling yet, just scooting. Somehow all she can manage is backwards motion.

• Clapping and waving. She is so proud of this and is doing it constantly.

• Standing up while holding on to something. She hasn't started pulling up, but she can hold her own when she has something to grab onto.

• Babbling

• Her hair is starting to fill in, but we have yet to figure out her eye color. I'm guessing they will settle on hazel or green.

• She is started entering that phase which I know most babies do where she can't stand when I leave the room or have my attention elsewhere.

• Still no teeth! They are right there though so I really think it will be any day.

Elise's Baptism pictures

Sweet girl got baptized this morning and it was a beautiful service with friends and family. Since it was warm last week I decided we should get some pictures of her in her dress. I figure she will only wear it this once so why not? I also learned how difficult it is to photograph detail on white clothing.

7 months old!

Late again on the update, I know. For some reason, I'm finding it harder and harder to update the ol' blog. Nevertheless, I'm determined to keep doing these updates for Elise like I did for her brother. So here we are seven months old! She is just all preciousness these days. She is so happy and fun and joyful. We can't seem to put her down. Here are some of her new skills:

• She is so proud of her sitting up abilities, that's all she seems to want to do.

• If it is within reach, she has her hands on it in .5 seconds.

• She has finally started napping better (sometimes) but is still sleeping through the night so no complaints here.

• She is so social and has to have someone in her face most of the time. She just loves her brother and he can always settle her down.

• She is very excitable and sticks her tongue out and pants like a little puppy when something excites her.

• She is starting to put sounds together like 'da da' ba ba' and a little 'ma ma' here and there.

• She has zero interest in being on her tummy. She absolutely hates it. I don't know how to get her interested in crawling.

• Poor thing has been sick for almost the whole month of January, but she is finally better. It was so pitiful, bless her.

Here are some more pics (had to sneak some in of Leyton, too).

6 Months Old

Elise turned 6 months old almost 2 weeks ago. While we did not forget, I have just been too busy to update the blog. She continues to change and charm us daily. Here is what she has been up to this month:

• Sitting up on her own (for a few seconds anyway until she gets distracted).

• Sleeping through the night! With the exception of the past few nights she has been sleeping for about 12 hours straight.

• Chowing down. She has really taken to the baby food. There isn't really a vegetable or fruit that she hasn't liked yet. Obviously.

• Excersaucing. She is obsessed with her excersaucer. She bounces up and down in that thing nonstop. Whenever she is being held in our laps, she bounces up and down to mimick the movement.

• Playing with her toys and anything she can get her hands on. She has just recently taken an interest in toys and loves to use her hands to figure things out.

• Loving on her big brother. He can bring a giggle out of her like no one else can and she watches him like a hawk.
