Double Deliciousness

We don't foresee self confidence being an issue in the near future.

A New Ride and The Headlick Manuever

L likes his new "ride." I use the word new loosely- it was handed down, but new to us nonetheless.

The kid will put anything in his mouth, really. He thought it would be a dandy idea to start licking daddy's head. Yum.

most annoying toy ever

L has really taken to this penguin that his Aunt Kristy and Uncle Richard gave him for Christmas. Thanks, guys.  He cried the first few times I pulled it out, but now he can't get enough.

The Bachelorette

I went to Destin this weekend for my good friend, Amanda's, bachelorette shindig. It was a blast- and very relaxing. It was so great to be back together again with my girls. Funny how you can be away from friends for 2-3 years, but when you get together it feels like you never left. I really miss living close to them.

We spent most of the weekend poolside...sadly we never really ventured to the beach. The pool is less messy. I do have to admit that I missed my little man some kinda awful bad. But he had a great weekend hanging with daddy. It felt like Christmas morning when he woke up this morning and I got to see him.

Here are a few pics from the weekend...

Happy Birthday, J!

Happy Birthday, Jeremy!!

I hope it is a good one even though I am leaving for a bachelorette party on the beach. In honor of his 29th, here are 29 random (or not so random) facts you may not know about him:

1. He has seen every episode of Saved by the Bell
2. and Beverly Hills 90210
3. He is fabulous at his job and loves his youth.
4. His biggest pet peeve is hearing people smack their gum
5. He wants a big dog so he can name it Bogie
6. He is not ticklish
7. When he eats cereal, he doesn't put it in a regular bowl. He puts it in a mixing bowl.
8. He hates having his picture taken. He is usually so uncooperative about this.
9. He hates getting attention on his birthday. He won't even let me get him anything. He is really quite ridiculous about it.
10. He has a really bad sweet tooth.
11. He thinks Tuna Helper is the best thing ever. Gross.
12. He is really smart and well spoken.
13. His favorite color is orange.
14. If he dresses Leyton, he will squeeze him into and baseball outfit he has.
15. On that same note, he secretly wants Leyton to be left-handed.
16. He wants to go to British Columbia to go skiing. Really bad.
17. He is quite a skillful skier. He also thinks that if he were a few inches taller he would have been a pro volleyball player.
18. He never gets mad. Really. I have tried to pick fights, but it doesn't work.
19. He loves rainbow flip-flops...it is really the only thing he splurges on.
20. If we were walking and he were to see a snake, he would most likely scream bloody murder and tell me to take care of myself.
21. He would do anything for me and Leyton.
22. He is the only person I know who can be engrossed in ESPN and Project Runway at the same time.
23. He is the greatest daddy ever...and the most selfless person I know.
24. He can watch tv, read a book, play on the internet and talk on the phone all at the same time.
25. He farted on me on our second date.
26. He changed his major about 6 times. Lucky for me he did. We would have never met had he not been on "the 6 year plan"
27. He hates vegetables- except potatoes.
28. He is so respectable and stands up for what he believes in.
29. He is the greatest husband and friend I could ask for.

Happy 29th- here is to celebrating many more together!!

TODAY I AM...

Joy. Pure joy.

I have to say, this is my favorite age so far, but I guess you think that with every stage they are in. I know I say this every month, but time really needs to stop flying. I seriously refuse to believe that my sweet baby will grow up. Refuse.

He is just the happiest little boy. Everytime I take him somewhere someone always comments on how happy he is. He is always smiling and "talking" to everyone who passes. This kid knows no strangers. He tried with all of his might to crawl out of my arms at the pool the other day to get over to this man who simply waved at him.

Here is what is going on round here:

Sleeping! L has slept through the night every night for the past week or two. I never thought we would get here. But we are here, and it is good. The bad thing is that he talks in his sleep so it is hard for us to sleep through his babbles coming through the monitor, so sometimes we have to go give him his paci to make him stop.

He has also been (and prefers) putting himself to sleep. I can't remember the last time he fell asleep on a bottle. He just doesn't want to. We lay him down awake and he sometimes plays for a few minutes and konks out or he just rolls over and goes to sleep. Glorious. He rarely fusses. Although I have to admit I miss holding him while he sleeps- it was only time I could get a good cuddle in because let's face it, he just doesn't have time for that these days.

Crawling- he started doing the "traditional" crawl about a week or so ago. He will usually do a few and then revert to his army crawl. Although he has been doing the real crawl alot today. He catches pretty good speed on the tile.

Pulling up- He pulls up on everything. He is such a big boy.

"Talking" My oh my, I have a loud child. He now says "dada" not knowing really what it means, but it makes Jeremy happy nonetheless. He also throws in some "ba ba's" amidst his squeals and rants. I swear I thought I heard a "ma ma" but it was really more of a "mmmmmuu mmah." I hear what I want though.

He is becoming quite clingy. Or is that just called 'spoiled'? Anyway- he will be perfectly fine doing his thing, chewing on toys, whatever. But if I even as much as go into the kitchen for a glass of water or God forbid have to use the restroom - he starts whining and follows me into the kitchen, sits at my feet whining, or tries to pull himself up my grabbing my legs. Pitiful. He even followed me into the restroom one day. I hope this isn't the beginning of separation anxiety.

Teeth- Poor guy has been teething forever. He has his two bottom teeth coming in. You have been able to see the top of them for awhile, but last night one of them really popped up and we could see it very clearly this morning. How much longer does teething last? 2 years? Lordy.

I'll leave you with a couple of pics to feast your eyes on.

Free Kisses, Anyone?

Leyton recently learned from his GiGi how to give kisses. If you say "Leyton, kiss" and pucker up he will plant his little lips right on top of yours. And when I say plant, I mean plant. They are super wet and messy, but sweeter than sugar for sure.

And with a face like this, how could you resist?

Kristen couldn't

neither could I

but beware, he doesn't always oblige

Thanks Kristen, for the pics!  There are many more great pics from this series that I will post soon.

L's Latest Trick

Leyton has now begun "pulling up."At first he started pulling up on me when I was playing with him on the floor, now he has gotten brave enough to pull up on the coffee table, sofa, dresser, and armoire. Lord help us. But he is so proud of his little self when he does it, it is so cute.

I got him a little table to pull up on and play with...

...and he was really excited about it

Man in the Mirror

Here is a bonus video. We got Leyton one of those mesh feeder things that you can put fruit in. It is supposed to be a great teether while letting them have a little snack. I like it because it looks an oversized ring pop. Anyway, I put some banana in it- I mean the kid loves his 'nanners. Or so I thought...must have been because I put it in the freezer for a few minutes. His face is that of pure disgust. Hilarity.
